Tuxedo Park Site Feasibility Study
location Calgary, AB
status In progress
project description
The Tuxedo Park Bungalow School, constructed in 1920, sits on a 0.9 HA parcel adjacent to Centre Street North and the future 28th Street station of Calgary Transit’s planned Green Line expansion project. As such, the parcel has been identified as a prime transit oriented development site.
Various City of Calgary business units, including Library, Parks, and Housing Strategies, are being engaged to determine the feasibility of becoming a partner of the future development.
The inclusion of affordable housing is a top priority for the City of Calgary, who are exploring different partnership models to facilitate the development.
MILE architecture was engaged (by ISL Engineering) to review the architectural components, including optimizing density around a six-storey wood-frame affordable housing component.
