This ambitious project targets many needs of the surrounding community. At its core, the project is a recreation facility, comprising of an NHL rink, curling sheets, triple gymnasium, and multi-tank natatorium. It also includes a small library, and is connected to a local high school.

More importantly, the facility is designed as a regional evacuation centre, and includes for the requisite emergency generators, commercial kitchens, and storage to serve evacuees of wildfires and other more frequent natural disasters.
